Our Story
Our Church began with Bible Study in the home of our Founders Apostles Melvin and Brenda W. Colbert on Thursday, April 6, 1995 in their garage. On the first Sunday of June 1995 we officially became a church.

The Lord told the Apostles to go find a building in August 1995 and September 1995 the church relocated to an office building complex off of Davis Road. Then on October 29, 1995 a dedication service was held for the church at Savannah Rapids Pavilion where Pastor Roy Myles was the speaker.
​
It was at that dedication service that prophetic words were spoken over our Apostles by Prophet Langlois. These are the words spoken by the Prophet recorded by two of the invited guests. One is here tonight.

The Prophecies are as follows:
*Excerpts from a prophetic word given to the church during the dedication service October 29, 1995
​
This work a unique labor of love, truth, you shall hear my voice direct you. Growth shall come. Look not at the growth. I send those to encourage you. A trial shall come. Some shall come causing problems. Son I shall give you your own ministry. Walk circumspectly. If you listen and be slow in acting, I will bless you. I will bless you! I will give wisdom and understanding. Be careful who you accept in the leadership. Walk wisely. There are some who listen to other voices, but walk carefully. As I bless, I will give you revelation. I will say the Lord has done as He had promised. Great provision you shall find. That you have given, I will give back. The work you have done for my servant (Apostle Roy Myles) I will give those to help you and reward you in return. Growth shall come. You shall have need of your own place as soon as 1996, as early as April. The spring of the year, I will send in the unchurched, the wounded, the unsaved the ones for you to bring unto me. I will give you because of your obedience.

Growth- You will grow by the Spring of 1996 so much that it will be necessary to grow into your own place. Then others will come into your place. There will be heathens, the unsaved, the lost, and the unchurched...all who will come to your place.

Truly, this shall be a labor of love and truth. Yeah, the one I've called to be your mother and your father have loved you and you have been faithful to them. I will call others to be faithful to you. You see, I have called you to expansion. Look not at the growth. Rejoice in me to encourage you. There will be a trial and test as the New Year unfolds. There will be some to come that caused problems in other places. They will come to fulfill their own ministries. But as you have been faithful to others, they have not been faithful. Discern those who come into your presence. Be slow in action and I will bless you. You will avoid the presumption of sins.

Be careful who you accept into the leadership. Be careful, be careful, be careful. Look for examples of holiness and glory shall be in the leadership. As I come to you time and time again, I will give you revelation that will bring glory to me.

*After leaving the service, the prophet followed our Apostles to the church which was located at Suite F Davis Plaza 106 off Davis Road on Hatfield Drive. These are the words prophesied over them at that time:

My Son and My Daughter,
This is a pivotal time in the beginning of what I'm going to do in your life because of your faithfulness. I'm going to give you a land because this is too small for what I'm about to do. So, I will give you a land. It is going to be as it were like a steal. God doesn't steal, I know that, but in order for you to grasp what God is speaking to you I must use the term steal. I'm going to bring you out of obscurity into the light. Many will begin after you and surpass you, but look not at their growth. Keep your focus on me. Go out and scout out the land I promise to give to you not many days hence it shall be yours. You shall be seen from I-20. There will be skyscrapers on the land for I will bring the people to you. You will be on a major thoroughfare, A GATEWAY CHURCH OF ALL NATIONS sitting on a hill that cannot be hidden where all roads will lead to the cross and whosoever will let them come saith the Lord your God.

All up and down Bobby Jones Expressway you see Scott Nixon Memorial Drive signs. In the year 2000, The Word of the Lord came to our Apostles to rise up and build, the fellowship hall (known as Royal Hall), but no the Sanctuary portion yet ( known as the CGI House). Trusting God walking by faith our apostles rallied the church and began the building project. April 27, 2003 we moved into our fellowship hall and used it as our sanctuary. Then in 2012 the Lord began to say to our apostles to rise up and build again. Again our apostles began to rally the church. During this time the Lord said to change the name of the church to reflect where He was taking us. The apostles along with the staff began to partition God for the new name. Names were submitted. After much prayer, the Lord gave the new name. The new name: CALVARY GATEWAY INTERNATIONAL CHURCH
